Tucker Anderson Goes Flag-to-Flag at Hartwell for Second SAS Win of Season
Share
In a rare Super Late Model show at Hartwell Speedway on Friday night, Tucker Anderson dominated the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series presented by Showtime Properties program to claim his second victory with the tour in 2026! Tucker, who laid down the quickest time in MRP Fantasy Racing hot laps, also clicked off the fastest lap during VP Racing Fuels qualifying to earn the pole position for the 40-lap main event. The Blairsville, Georgia ace then grabbed the point at the drop of the green flag and controlled the field throughout the contest.
At the unfurling of the checkered flag, Tucker was 2.109 seconds ahead of his nearest competition to bag the $4,000 first place prize money. Trent Ivey, of Union, South Carolina, started from the outside of the front row and finished in the runner-up spot to earn a $2,000 payday. Wil Herrington moved up a couple of positions in the running order to nab the final spot on the podium. Defending SAS Champion Billy Franklin steered past eight cars to finish fourth, while Trae Kirk moved past a pair of competitors to jump inside of the top five at the finish.
Tucker Anderson’s winning #22 Longhorn Chassis was powered by a Cornett Racing Engine with sponsorship in part from Beaverdam Trucking, Vinson Sims Construction, T&S Transportation, Equiplinc Auction Group, Interstate Welding and Steel Supply, Recovery Specialists of North Georgia, Sage Coleman Financial, Bilstein Shocks, Rumley Engineering, Diamond Coatings, Mountain Water Works, Ray Cook Racing, SRI Performance, Gambler Performance, VP Racing Fuels, Collins Signs, and Hoosier Racing Tire.
A total of 19 competitors were in the Hartwell Speedway pit area on Friday to do battle in the sixth round of Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series action. Eventual winner Tucker Anderson went fastest in both MRP Fantasy Racing hot laps (16.537 seconds) and VP Racing Fuels qualifying (16.382 seconds). The feature field was entirely set through the time trial session. Only four caution flags slowed the pace in the headliner, which lasted 33 minutes in length.
