SAS Tour Stops at Hartwell Speedway and Winder-Barrow Speedway

The lone events in the month of April for the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series presented by Showtime Properties will take place on April 10-11 in the Peach State!  Up first will be a visit to Hartwell Speedway in Hartwell, Georgia on Friday night for a $4,000 to win shootout.  The dirt-slinging action will then quickly shift to Winder-Barrow Speedway in Winder, Georgia on Saturday evening for a $5,000 to win program.  In addition to the posted feature purses, drivers will also be gunning for an extra $1,000 bonus that will be presented to the highest combined finisher from the two weekend races.

At Hartwell on Friday, the pit gates will open at 4:00pm and the grandstands will start to allow fans into the facility at 5:00pm.  The drivers meeting is set for 6:30pm and hot laps will light up the racetrack at 7:00pm.  Joining the ground-pounding Super Late Models in action will be the 602 Late Model ($1,500 to win), Stock 8 ($1,000 to win), Sharp Mini Late Model ($1,000 to win), Front Wheel Drive ($350 to win), and Young Gun ($300 to win) divisions.

On Saturday at Winder-Barrow, the gates will open at 4:00pm, the drivers meeting is scheduled for 6:30pm, and hot laps will get underway at 7:00pm.  Along with the Super Late Models on the racing card will be the 602 Late Model, Stock 8, Modified Street, 4-Cylinder, and Mini Late Model classes.  The SAS tour visited Winder-Barrow Speedway last season and it was Dillon Tidmore that bagged the $5,000 first place prize money ahead of runner-up David McCoy, Jordy Nipper, Trae Kirk, and Chris Woods.

Super Late Model body rules and the Droop Rule will be the same as those agreed on by both the World of Outlaws Late Model Series and the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series - among others.  Additional rules including engine and weight rules can be found online at www.sasdirt.com.  The Super Late Model entry fee will be $120.00 at each event, while transponders will be available to rent at both venues.
