Saturday’s SAS Stop at North Georgia Speedway Postponed to March 12; Now $7,000 to Win

With rain and thunderstorms slated to roll into the Chatsworth, Georgia area late Saturday afternoon and through the evening, North Georgia Speedway and Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series officials have jointly decided to postpone the track’s season opener until Thursday, March 12. The purse for the Super Late Model special has also been upped to pay $7,000 to the winner. Thursday’s program at North Georgia Speedway will kick off a huge tripleheader in the Southeast, as the World of Outlaws Late Model Series is hosting shows at both Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee on Friday and Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee on Saturday.
At North Georgia Speedway on Thursday, the pit gates will open at 2:00pm and the grandstands will start to allow fans into the storied facility an hour later at 3:00pm. The drivers meeting is scheduled for 5:00pm and racing action will start at 6:00pm. Adult grandstand admission will be $25.00, while kids ages 5-11 will be admitted into the stands for $15.00. A pit pass for adults will be $45.00, while kids ages 5-11 will be allowed into the pit area for $20.00. Children ages 4 and under are FREE in both the grandstands and the pits.
Along with the Super Late Models on the season opening card will be the 604 Late Model, 602 Late Model, Open Wheel Modified, Front Wheel Drive, and Stock FWD divisions. Super Late Model body rules and the Droop Rule will be the same as those agreed on by both the World of Outlaws Late Model Series and the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series - among others.
