January 19, 2021 - Sunoco Fuels returns to Southern All Stars Series
The Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series is entering it’s 38th year of bringing great super late model action to tracks across the Southeast and proud to have Sunoco Race Fuels from Insinger Performance on board again in 2021 as the official racing fuel of the series.

January 13, 2021 - PPM Racing Products to sponsor SAS Hard Charger award
The Southern All Stars are pleased to announce PPM Racing Products will be on board the 2021 season sponsoring the Hard Charger award at each event. The driver making the biggest gain in position from their starting spot will receive a $50.00 gift card good for 30 days to use towards an order from PPM. For drivers to be eligible they must have a PPM decal on their car furnished at the Southern All Stars registration table.

January 13, 2021 - Hoosier Tire back on board with Southern All Stars as official tire
The Southern All Stars Series is proud to announce that Hoosier Tire is once again the Official Tire for the 2021 series.

The Alabama based series is entering it’s 38th year of racing across the Southeast. The states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina. and Tennessee are on the schedule with negotiations with more tracks continuing.

Calera, AL driver Billy Franklin was the 2021 Series Champion and Ft. Payne driver Sam Seawright picked up the Cruise with the Champions Rookie of the Year award.

January 13, 2021 - Rugged Radios Contingency Award announced
Rugged Radios, the official communication radios for the Southern All Stars Series, is pleased to announce a contingency available for all drivers competing in the series for the 2021 season. January 7, 2021 - Two dates adjusted for 2021 season
There have been 2 changes to the 2021 schedule that was released on Monday, January 4th. The first is the July 16 event at Moulton Speedway is a TBA date as Keith Steele, the new owner of the speedway and series officials are working to find a compatible date.

The 2nd change is the November 25th date for Boyd’s Speedway should be November 20th.

Series announcer Dewayne Keith has put together a schedule for the 2021 season that includes several tracks the series has run in the past and look forward to returning too.

January 4, 2021 - 2021 Southern All Star Series schedule released
The Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series is looking to start off the 2021 season with a schedule of 26 races covering 6 states in the South. This will be the 38th year of racing for Alabama based series.

Calera, AL driver Billy Franklin won the 2020 series championship and Ft. Payne driver Sam Seawright won the Cruise with the Champions Rookie of the Year. Both drivers are planning on running the 2021 schedule.<<MORE>>

34 Southern All Star drivers signed in on night one of a two night doubleheader at Smoky Mountain Raceway in Maryville, TN on October 16. Just as the season started in March, Chickamauga,GA driver Dale McDowell wins the last 2 races of the season as he did the first 2 events in 2020.<<MORE>>

October 11, 2020 - Southern All Stars to open 2021 season at Screven
The Southern All Stars will kick off its 2021 season at Screven Motorsports Complex in Sylvania, Georgia on February 5th, 2021! The one day event will pay $7,500 to win for the 50 lap event! The 38th year of the series will be apart of the 11th Annual Winter Freeze! We are very excited to also see The Ultimate South East series co-headline this weekend with Kelley Carlton and the Ultimate South East Series as they kick off thier 2021 season with a $10,000 to win event Saturday February 6th! Both Series sincerely appreciate James Griffin "Red" for having us apart of the prestigious Winter Freeze!!

September 26, 2020 - Overton wins Michael Head Jr. Memorial

Joseph Joiner and Brandon Overton led the group qualifying with Overton fastest. It didn't take long for trouble to find Todd Morrow and Michael Page as the two tangled in turn 3 and 4 with Morrow ending up on his roof on lap 1. Once the red flag was lifted Overton was being pressured by Joiner for the lead. On lap 16, a major crash on the front straight took out current points leader Billy Franklin along with Dalton Cook, John Henderson and Dalton Poston.

August 22, 2020 - McIntosh wins thriller in Dirt Slinger Classic

Soon after the rain stopped the cars were called to the track for Sunoco Racing Fuels Qualifying. David Crabtree of Maryville, TN was the fastest in Group 1 and Dawsonville, GA Donald McIntosh took fastest in Group 2 and was fastest overall to a slick and fast 1/3rd mile clay surface. <<MORE>>

August 15, 2020 - MILLWOOD POCKETS $10,000.00 IN GOVERNOR CUP
The Southern All Stars Dirt Series made it's first visit to Talladega Short Track, a track that has hosted a SAS event for the 37 years the series has been racing. And the track was in great shape for the 40 drivers that signed in for the prestigious race. <<MORE>>

July 30, 2020 - Southern All Stars 2020 Hall of Fame Inductees Announced
The Southern All Stars Series is pleased to announce the Class of 2020 Hall of Fame Inductees to be enshrined on August 15, 2020 at the 3rd Annual Governors Cup at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL. In addition to inductees going in on the dirt side, we will also be inducting an asphalt group this year as we start off with a stellar group of men for the inaugural class of 2020. <<MORE>>

July 15, 2020 - Southern All Stars / Dirt on Dirt Partnership
The Southern All Star Series now in it 37th year of bringing competitive dirt super late model racing to local short tracks in the south will soon be available in the comfort of your home. and the Southern All Stars has agreed to a multi-year contract to be the primary pay per view host of races.

"We are super excited about this contract with DirtonDirt as they are one of the top dirt broadcasting companies that brings so many races to the fans" said series official Ray Tennyson. "So many fans ask me at the tracks if Dirt on Dirt will be covering the next race that might be too far from the to see in person. Hopefully there will be more yes answers now than no." <<MORE>>

The track record of 14.031 was the target as several drivers were flirting with the time in the hot laps session. The laps that count is qualifying and the crowd would see 2 drivers beat it. <<MORE>>

June 13, 2020 - Breazeale and Winger winners at Deep South
The Southen All Stars headed South from the Huntsville AL office to the city of Loxley, AL for their first visit to the beautiful Deep South Speedway. Owner/Promoter Billy Roberson has been working to change the once 1/2 mile track into a fast and competitive 3/8 mile clay oval. May 23, 2020 - McDowell Goes Back to Back in Series Wins
The Southen All Stars finally made it to the track after 83 days and Victory Lane had a familiar face back in it. Dale McDowell from Chickamauga, GA is has been perfect in the season opener March Madness in Cherokee Speedway in Gafnee, SC and now at Thunderhill Raceway Park’s Whooping the WuHan Flu 50. March 1, 2020 - Dale McDowell back in Victory Lane
The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series presented by MaxFab began it’s 37th year of dirt late model racing in the great state of South Carolina on March 1st and a face not seen in the SAS Victory Lane for 13 years was there. Chickamauga, GA driver and former Southern All Star champion Dale McDowell led all 60 laps of the Ginger Owens Memorial as the fans saw great racing between several drivers. McDowell set fast time in SUNOCO Race Fuels/Knowles Race Parts qualifying on Sunday and then took the lead at the drop of the green for the 60 lapper and never looked back as he cruised too the win. <<MORE>>
