Pair of Top-10 finishes with Southern All Stars at Senoia

Taking part in a doubleheader weekend with the Southern All Star Series, Payton Freeman ventured to Senoia Raceway (Senoia, Ga.) on Friday afternoon for the Billy Clanton Classic. With 24 Late Models entered, Freeman’s second-fastest lap in his time trial group placed him fourth on the starting grid for the opening night feature. With $3,000 on the line, Payton dropped two spots in the 25-lapper to finish sixth.

For the Hence and Reba Pollard Memorial on Saturday, Payton laid down the fifth-fastest time in his group before finishing third in his heat. Earning the ninth-starting position for the $10,000-to-win finale, Freeman clawed forward two spots in the 50-lap affair to register a seventh-place finish.

Payton holds a comfortable lead atop the Southern All Star Series point standings.
