Top-5 finish with Spring Nationals at I-75

Tyler Millwood was one of 32 Schaeffer’s Spring Nationals series entries entered at I-75 Raceway (Sweetwater, Tenn.) on Friday night for the third attempt at the Tennessee oval. With the top-eight qualifiers getting locked into the A-Main, Millwood posted the third-fastest time in his qualifying group. With $5,053 on the line, Tyler held his spot for the entire distance of the 40-lapper to place fifth, trailing Brandon Overton, Michael Page, Dale McDowell, and Cory Hedgecock to the checkers. On Saturday night, Tyler headed to Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tenn.) for the Southern All Star Series-sanctioned Rockin’ with the Stars. Earning the 19th-starting position for the $5,000-to-win A-Main via preliminary events, Millwood gained four spots in the 40-lap affair to finish 15th.
