Winger notches podium finish in King of the Hill 40

Ashton Winger was one of 29 Schaeffer’s Spring Nationals series entries on hand at Crossville Speedway (Crossville, Tenn.) on Friday afternoon for the $4,053 prize. In a field of 29 cars, Winger secured his spot into the opening night feature with the fourth fastest time in his group. The following night, Winger headed to Clayhill Speedway (Atwood, Tenn.) for the Southern All Star Series-sanctioned King of the Hill 40. Earning the fifth-starting position for the $4,000-to-win A-Main via preliminary events, Winger jumped up two spots to place third, trailing Payton Freeman and Dillon Tidmore to the checkers. Matthew Brocato and Dean Carpenter completed the Top-5 finishers in the 40-lap affair.
