Southern All Stars Start 36th Year At Cherokee Speedway

FAYETTEVILLE, TN—The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series presented by MaxFab will start the 2019 season with a traditional opener as the series will sanction the 19th Annual March Madness 60 paying $12,000 to win and $600 to start for the Southern All Star Super Late Models Sunday afternoon March 3rd.

March Madness has always been one of the highlight races of the year for the series as it kicks off the battle for the point’s championship. In 2018 Fayetteville, TN., driver Jay Scott who was also a rookie was on his first time ever to travel with a series and it paid off as he captured the series title as well as the Cruise with the Champions/Dirtondirt.com Rookie of the Year. Mark Dodson of Caledonia, MS., also made his first run with series and came home in the second spot, third place went to Ray McElhiney of Pulaski, TN., fourth to Eric Hickerson of Linden, TN., and fifth to Joseph Faulkner of Flintville, TN., all of who are expected to be in action.

Drivers that have expressed an interest in running for the series title this year include Austin Arnold, Leon Henderson out of Mississippi, JT Seawright, Billy Franklin out of Alabama, and Christian Hanger our of Tennessee just to name a few.

Last year’s March Madness winner and three-time Southern All Star Champion Chris Madden is expected to be in attendance as well as Ross Bailes of Clover, Zack Mitchell Chris Ferguson, Dennis Franklin plus many more.
Pit gates will open at 10 am with drivers meeting at 12:30 noon and hot laps to follow.
