SOUTHERN ALL STAR DIRT RACING SERIES PR#16

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Todd Morrow Becomes Fourth Different Winner in Four Southern All Star Events

EASTABOGA, AL—The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series made it’s first of four stops this year at the Talladega Short Track Saturday night for the NASCAR weekend of action and East Ridge, TN., driver Todd Morrow picked up the win as outlasted Jason Hiett and William Thomas to capture the $4,000 first place check.

Morrow picked up the White Performance fast qualifier award 14.893 second lap for the 35 cars on hand with Thomas taking the outside position on the front row.  Morrow then lead the field to the green flag for the 40 lap event and battled with Thomas early in the race, the two battled each other through two restarts and finally Morrow got ahead of Thomas and then began to work on building his lead.  Thomas was now in the second spot, but being pressured by Hiett who was starting to make his move to the front and the battle for the second spot was side by side, as appeared to gaining on Morrow as he was having to work heavy lapped traffic,  Morrow then worked his way around the lapped traffic and Hiett was now in the second spot and make a late race charge to run down Morrow but could not pull it off and had to settle for another second place finish with the Southern All Stars this year.  Thomas came home in the third spot, with Jake Knowles of Tyrone, GA., coming in the fourth spot after a fierce battle with the fifth place finisher Ray Cook of Brasstown, NC, these two battled late in the race side by side.

Finishing the in the sixth spot was current Southern All Stars points leader Riley Hickman, seventh went to Brandon Kinzer, eighth to Tim Roszell, ninth Dillon Crim and rounding out the top ten was Dylan Ames.

In Friday night action Hiett and Morrow staged a battled side by side for the top spot with Hiett coming out on top in that action, Saturday night the roles were reversed.

The race that was supposed to be on May 10th at the Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, TN., has been cancelled and will be rescheduled at a late date.

The next is set for Saturday night May 17th at the Waycross Motor Speedway in Waycross, GA.
